Goals for the 2025-2026 School Year
- Maintain a safe and orderly school climate and facility that allows the students, faculty, staff and administrators to feel secure and valued while concentrating on student achievement, developing positive relationships, reinforcing civic responsibility, cultural diversity, and maintaining the overall social and emotional well-being of our educational community
- Work effectively to support the transition to a new Superintendent and fostering a climate of collaborative leadership and accountability, and focusing on school priorities and operations in an efficient and cost effective manner
- Promote creative efforts for students to develop 21st Century Skills using critical thinking, problem solving, reasoning, planning, analysis and a broad range of learning opportunities through distributive leadership as a collective responsibility for administrators and teachers by utilizing feedback from students and the school community
- Engage in professional learning opportunities for the Voluntown Board of Education members and support staff, and foster transparency through open communication between the board, staff, and the community
- Support the process of creating a curriculum that promotes learning opportunities for students that are aligned Common Core State Standards with the CT Next Generation Accountability System which promotes an enriched curriculum and meets local and state requirements as well as promotes civics education, maintains a foreign language program and supports future STEM/STEAM activities in a creative resource room
- Hire, support, and retain top teaching talent while working within state, federal, and district resources
- Implement systems that encourage and support the use of data and research in decision making, especially with regards to securing grants to address learning priorities
